The Goal of Balance: Taking Proper Care of All Sides of Life

Can you believe another year is wrapping up? Before you know it, we’ll be starting 2024 and a new chapter. It’s times like these when I take a step back and really think about the goals I’ve had and the progress that I’m making toward them.

I’ve been a big believer in setting goals, making vision boards, and keeping my goals in front of me, and it’s paid off! I feel very grateful that I’ve been able to build a successful business that meets the needs of our clients. But we always want to work at becoming better. That’s why we’ve kept making our systems better, and we continue to add new products to better serve you and support your well-being.

At home, I have a young family, with a son who is almost  3 years old. He is very outgoing, and we can see more and more of his personality. At the same time, seeing him grow up is a big reminder that life goes by very quickly.

With that in mind, I’m looking at my priorities as the year ends. It’s easy to get caught up being on the phone, writing emails, and working a lot. However, I’ve realized that being present in the moment and attentive to my family helps me show up better in the work version of myself, too.

I’m proud of where we are. The achiever in me always wants to do more, and I never want to become too comfortable. At the same time, I realize that taking time to enjoy life along the way is vital to maintaining a healthy balance.

A big part of my goal-setting has been to choose one main thing each year to focus on. This year, I’m focusing on scheduling my personal time first. It’s natural for most of us to schedule work and business tasks first, then use what’s left for family and personal life. But I want the opposite: scheduling personal and family time first with work and other parts of life flowing in around that.

With this goal in mind, my family and I have become more intentional about how we choose to spend our time together. We just bought a house in the mountains that has a pond and creek on the property surrounding it. We love it there; mountains are therapeutic to me, and I went there a lot when I was growing up. I’m really looking forward to spending time in that beautiful setting as a family. It will be a great way to ground myself and simply recharge.

I am also making more time to read motivational messages by people like Napoleon Hill and Dale Carnegie as part of my morning routine. I discovered a great collection of their work around their ideas, which will help me cultivate fertile ground for visualization and a positive mindset.

Ultimately, an improved balance in my life helps us focus better on your needs and provide you with the best results possible. Have a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year!
