Nature’s Recharge: The Natural Electrolyte Drink Your Patients Need
Chiropractors often advise patients to stay well-hydrated to get the best results from adjustments, massage, or other therapy. However, according to peer-reviewed studies, more than one in four older adults fails on that front by drinking far less water than their bodies need.
Finding electrolyte beverages that are genuinely healthy, taste good, and restore the body’s essential minerals can be a challenge.
The chiros we serve are stepping up purchases of an innovative product that checks all those boxes — Superieur Electrolytes Drink Mix. This unique beverage was developed by a lifelong runner who has formulated products for U.S. Track and Field, and it is the most complete electrolyte formula on the market. It is designed to maximize the body’s absorption of essential minerals harvested from natural sources, including Himalayan sea salt, which contains 80 healthy minerals. That is a sharp contrast with the two common minerals found in mass-market beverages — sodium and chloride, or table salt.
The flavors in Superieur Electrolytes also come from natural sources, including the acerola berry, the raspberry, and extracts from stevia leaves and bamboo stems. These ingredients leave none of the super-sweet, metallic aftertaste of the lab-made sweeteners in competing products.
“There isn’t a product out there that is going to help patients feel better, and actually hydrate them,” says Seth Bovio, founder and head of Superieur Electrolytes. Bovio says that chiropractors are ordering Superieur Electrolytes in large canisters or small packets for sampling or sale.
Some elite athletes use Superieur Electrolytes, but the bulk of sales are to older adults, including people with diabetes, neuropathy, cancer, and other ailments. Superieur Electrolytes are distributed worldwide through chiropractors, yoga studios, cancer treatment centers, health food stores, and other outlets.
Chiros who offer free samples of Superieur Electrolytes in their clinics are finding it works wonders. Many install a glass or plastic dispenser and make a batch of the beverage for patients to try before or after treatment. After a massage, the drink helps patients flush out metabolic waste and hydrate the muscles while also whetting their appetite for more. Some chiropractors order hundreds of dollars’ worth of Superieur products monthly to offer samples and sell to their patients.
Mass-market beverages fail to restore to the body the essential minerals that serve as electrolytes, Bovio says. Some carbs are necessary to enable the body to absorb minerals, and Superieur products contain just enough carbs from organic white rice to facilitate mineral absorption. Superieur Electrolytes also contain naturally sourced Vitamin C.
Superieur Electrolytes are almost as noteworthy for what they do not contain. They have no food dyes or synthetics, and no erythritol, a common additive to the stevia sweetener used in many zero-calorie mass-market drinks (erythritol has been linked in research to heart attacks and strokes).
If you plan to stop by our booth at a trade show this summer, we would love to offer you a free sample from our “hydration station.” We hope you will be as excited about this innovative product as we are!
